Terms & Conditions

This is a starting template, not legal advice, have a UK solicitor review it before you rely on it.

About these terms

These terms govern your use of the ZAKLAD website and the process of commissioning furniture through us. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully and contact us at hello@zaklad.co.uk if anything is unclear.

Our service

ZAKLAD showcases and arranges bespoke, made-to-order furniture that is handcrafted in Poland and delivered to customers in the UK. Every piece is made to your specification. Quotes are free and non-binding, they are an estimate based on the information you provide and do not create a contract until an order is agreed and confirmed.

Ordering and quotes

To begin, you send us details of the piece you would like, including any dimensions, materials, finishes and reference images. We provide a free, no-obligation quote. A binding contract is formed only once the specification is agreed, the quote is accepted, and we confirm that we are proceeding with your order. Because each piece is made to your specification, it is your responsibility to check that the details you provide are correct before work begins.

Deposits

A deposit may be required before we begin work on your bespoke piece. Because items are made to order to your specification, once work has commenced a deposit (and any costs already incurred) may be non-refundable, to cover materials and labour already committed to your order.

Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights. Consumer law treats made-to-measure and personalised goods differently from standard products, in particular, the usual right to cancel may not apply to bespoke items once work has started. We will set out the deposit and cancellation position clearly before you commit, and this clause should be reviewed by a solicitor to ensure it complies with UK consumer protection law.

Pricing and payment

Prices are confirmed in your quote. Where payment is taken through this website, it is handled securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Any balance and payment schedule will be agreed with you as part of your order.

Delivery

We deliver finished pieces to addresses in the UK. We will give you an estimated timeline with your quote and keep you updated. Lead times are estimates and may vary with the complexity of the piece and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Your account and acceptable use

If you create an account or use our customer portal, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. You agree to use the site and portal lawfully, not to upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content, and not to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems.

Intellectual property

The content of this website, including text, images, branding, design and layout, belongs to ZAKLAD or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute it without our permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the site. We recommend checking back periodically for any changes.
